November 9, 2015 Crystal Nacht Commemoration in Leipzig
Dear friends,
Today, on the commemoration day of Crystal Night, we would like to inform you that numerous events have been organized at different locations in Leipzig. Citizens are cleaning “Stolpersteine” and they are participating in solemn vigils in memory of the victims. Mayor Burkhard Jung will speak at Dittrichring 13 about the fate of the family Frankenthal. Furthermore, a worship service for peace will take place in the Nikolai Church and afterwards hundreds of candles will light the way towards the memorial site for the Great Synagogue at Gottschedstraße. To commemorate the victims all chairs are equipped with information about citizens from Leipzig, who were persecuted around 9th November 1938.
Kind regards
